"Music is an ornamentation of Silence and should be used by seekers to experience the silence within, in our quest towards Oneness with our Divine Self." -Swami Chinmayananda
About Swaranjali
Chinmaya Swaranjali, the music wing of the Chinmaya Mission, was formed by a group of musicians inspired by Swami Tejomayananda. Swaranjali means, 'a musical offering to the divine'. True to its motto, ‘Swara to Ishwara’, Chinmaya Swaranjali members look upon music not as an idle passion, but as a dynamic vehicle to seek the inner source of joy and divinity. It is a movement dedicated to exploring the mystical world of Indian classical and devotional music, thereby discovering the veiled joy of infinitude. ‘Experience directly the beauty and rhythm of the Lord, which is always available in Indian devotional songs. Many of our saints reached Truth through singing for Him,’ said Swami Chinmayananda. Swaranjali members sing as a tribute to their Master and Guru; they sing to spread His message and they sing with their hearts soaked in His Love.
Chinmaya Mission Orlando Swaranjali
Inspired by the melodious renderings of hymns by Pujya Swami Tejomayanandaji, the soulful bhajans sung by our beloved Acharya Shailaja ji and by the Swaranjali wings of various centers, Chinmaya Mission Orlando is happy to offer Swaranjali classes in our community starting February 2017. The purpose of this group is to provide an avenue for our children to participate in devotional singing and rendering of bhajans and kirtans through group singing. Children will have the opportunity to perform during special events and poojas.
Classes will be open to Balavihar families - adults and children ages 5 years and up who are currently enrolled in Bala Vihar and attending classes regularly. Classes will be held from 8:15 am to 8:45 am every Sunday in Tapovan Hall. Swaranjali classes for adults will be held at 12.45 PM in classroom number 6. All materials will be provided.
